No, this doesn’t mean that for the entire ten years, I have been meeting my therapist every week, sharing my week’s experiences, and seeking advice for every life decision.

I understand that some people follow this approach and find it beneficial, but I am not one of them, and they are not me.

However, I don’t need weekly supervision for my life. I mostly manage things quite well independently. And when I can’t, I turn to therapy for assistance.

Through a series of trials and errors, I have discovered that my preferred therapeutic approach is Cognitive Psychotherapy (CPT). I find it to be simple and effective, where I understand what my therapists expect from me, and they understand what I seek from them.

At the same time, I am aware of numerous individuals for whom CPT is not the right fit. They may resonate more with Gestalt therapy.
